Give an inch, take a smile

Well I'm sick and I feel terrible...my stomach aches like hell and I guess this entry is goingt to get rather random. I spent my days with watching cazillions of DVD's (Pride&Prejudice (always a favourite), Jane Eyre, Zoolander, East of Eden, Nirvana unplugged in NY and so on), drawing a little and doing some cross-stitch...haha I sound like a granny, don't I ? Somehow I have the strong desire of watching the Sailor Moon anime...I guess I do this now...If you'll excuse me.

(Found my calligraphy set again after doing a belated spring-cleaning and yeah it was nice to see that I still could remember some kanji (super not creative ones but hey at least some). I have to excuse my dreadful writing....Is it me or does it give this wanted poster vibes ?)

all the things I have

Did I ever mention that I love Rimmel's nail polish??? I cannot live without it anymore why did nobody tell me about it? Just buy it, it's wonderful, dries fast and isn't that expensive.
Phoenix (especially Lisztomania) and Arctic Monkey (Cornerstone) are pretty much self-explanatory.
Moreover the bracelet in the middle is a new purchase...look at the funky death's-heads.
Skirt and shirt are from New Yorkers SALE... The shirts print is some pseudo boho/ flower child image but for 1 € it was ok...and a like it somehow...if you look for it..it's in the men's area :)

sorry daddy

Jeans shirt : Dad's wardrobe
Striped tank : Pimkie
Pants : Pimkie
Necklace : selfmade
Shoulder bag : New Yorker

Right know it's raining here and I miss the fragile shafts of sunlight, so I show you my outfit from last week. For a long time now I wanted to get a jeans shirt but I didn't want to give oodles of money for it. And tadaaaaam one day when I was out in the garden with my parents I saw it!! I saw it on my dad!! I literally ripped it off from his chest!!! Harr harr!! :P

The sleeves looked so wide and unattractive to me that I turned them up and I have to say yay to me!! Without spending any money I got a super nice and comfy vintage jeans shirt!!! My advice to you: don't just look into your mom's or granny's wardrobe but also into your fathers or brothers!!! It's worth it!!!

That's it from me for today

Goodnight to everybody
kisses

Ready to wear autumn/winter 10-11

(Please click the pictures to enlarge)

Clinging silhouettes, an overwhelming amount of black lace, endless flowing chiffon, tulle and sequin embroidery. As already noticed Elie Saab took a darker view with emphasis on black and a touch of burgundy, green, blue and beige. I thought that the collection was a little too long with 60 looks and I couldn't make myself feel attracted to the burgundy and some jersey pieces but I guess I would kill to get the chance to wear one of the pieces. Nevertheless...the more I fell in love with his stunning romantic and mysterious gowns. Again Elie Saab is a genius and not only with Haute Couture but also with RTW !!!

Dog days aren't over yet

This video, this song, they give me the chills. Epic song and a more epic video. The costumes, the make up and all the colours are wonderful (aarggh I can't find the words to describe how this whole concept fascinates me) God I love Florence's lyrics !!!
PS: Does somebody know the designer of her beige tulle dress?

The Young Victoria

emily

Emily Blunt graces Elle September cover in Valentino.
Usually I connect romantic images with lace (for some reason especially with black lace) but this cover looks so not cute and romantic. There's something more animalistic about the whole look: her smokey eyes, the messy hair, the lifted shoulder, the legs everything. I love this cover and I love Emily Blunt. It's nice that there are a few talented actresses that are not too much Hollywood.
Just a little while ago I watched 'The Jane Austen Book Club' and 'Windchill' with her. The former is a nice movie for the meantime, nothing epic but the second is a shocker and not recommendable for fraidy-cats.
And the movie I can recommend from the bottom of my heart is 'The Young Victoria'. It's the true story of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Now it's the time where I usually start with 'they are so cute and they loved each other sooooo much' and so on but I won't ( I already did but... wayne) and instead I'll make an image entry next. A picture is worth thousand words right!

hair jealousy

Who wouldn't get jealous by not having voluminous, long silky hair like Penélope Cruz, Liv Tyler etc ? I would and I actually am... a little. I try to use silicon-free hair products and wash my hair with lukewarm water. And in the majority of cases I let them air-dry. So what is it that I make wrong, that I'am punished with Hermione's hair?? I had hair like Penélope. Can someone help me with this problem? Do I have to rethink my diet? Do I have to pray? Do I have to take a beer shower? What are your beautiful- hair- secrets ?

Union Jack Collage

Union Jack CollageFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Lately I'm obsessed with London and Union Jack motives and it was time to make a collage and post it here. As you can see my focus is on accessoires like boots, purses, jewellry and so on. Imagine a business meeting or something, you're wearing black, don't matter if a suit or a dress...could appear classy or in some people's eyes boring and plain and now imagine that outfit and a sequined purse in blue and red in your hand. It gives you the special something, don't you think? It also worked on Spiderman and Superman so why not on us? How lovely it would be to have a jolly stroll in the rain with those pink wellies. I want them right now!! \(o^0^o)/
For more detail on the items you can click the collage to enlarge the image. The Raven Brittany t-dress is by the brand TWENTY8TWELVE. You can get it here for 75%off. I liked it because of the boho/carefree/ not to much rock'n'roll vibes and the colors appear to look wash out.

Hotaru no Hikari 2

Watching this right now. This drama is so hilarious and fun to watch.

Synopsis:

Hotaru works for a famous interior design company. It's a glamorous job but Hotaru's private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn't working she's mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She's not interested in men. In fact, she isn't interested in anything. "I'd rather lay around than fool around," is her motto.
Her landlord is a bar owner, and one day his son, who has just separated from his wife, comes to inspect the rental property, not knowing that someone is living there. He is shocked at the mess, but not as shocked as Hotaru. He turns out to be her boss, Takano. (Japan Time Online)

The Diamonds

The 1st time I heared 'Hollywood' was in the radio and that was it. (Sometimes I'm prejudiced I know and I'm working on its change.) I didn't spend more thoughts on Marina and the Diamonds...no interest and such but two days ago everything changed. I don't even know how...like a dream; you can't remember how the dream started (sorry still influenced by Inception....great movie, great actors, superb story)

Nevertheless....man she's so damn talented. Listened to the lyrics? 'Hollywood' describes just the current situation in Europe...everyone looks to America and Hollywood and wants to be American so they pretend to be so cool because they use anglicism and stuff. They dream of a better life there but honestly? Man if you want to live there you are in need of a plan, a talent, connections, money ...something...
I went round the houses again sry (have to work on that, too)

I listened to her album 'The family jewels' and it's worth listening twice. Definetly!! Songs that I can recommend are 'Mowgli's Road', 'Hermit the frog', 'Oh No!', 'Obsessions' and 'I am not a robot'. She sings about consumerism, pop culture and of course women.
Moreover she has an unique voice and dressing stlye..so it's definitely no wasted time to check her out :)
